Clicking this button downloads a large (zipped) file with materials for a single session, including Leader Guide pages, Sketch Journal pages, and a video.
Each session has six parts. Participants will Rewind the story so far, Prepare for and Imagine the story, Capture what they notice, Remix the story, and Connect the story to their lives.
It’s the learning method at the core of the Echo the Story curriculum. Bible storying is a sequential telling of Bible stories, followed by creative reflection and in-depth dialogue.
Being creative and imaginative is a key part of the Echo the Story curriculum. Sketching helps youth capture their thoughts and ideas on each story—connecting the biblical narrative to their personal story. Sketching increases understanding and encourages sharing with peers.
The published curriculum makes it possible for almost anyone to participate in the art of Bible storytelling and facilitate an Echo the Story 12 session. For those looking for additional background, founder Michael Novelli facilitates Bible storytelling workshops.
The Leader Videos and Leader Guide include everything you’ll need to feel confident and prepared to facilitate a session. Materials include a brief introduction, tips to lead effectively, session overviews, scripts to introduce videos and activities, paraphrased biblical narratives, and questions to inspire dialogue.
Echo the Story 12 was designed to create a complete youth ministry experience with a DVD, Leader Guide for each leader, and a Sketch Journal for each participant.
